Garden waste,
gone when the brown bin can't keep up.
Hedge cuttings, tree branches, turf, bagged green waste, full post-project piles. If the brown bin has a waitlist or won't come soon enough, one van-load clears the lot. Fixed price per job, same-day availability across York.
Big tidy-ups, bigger piles.
A long weekend in the garden, a hedge trim that filled three bags, a landscaper who left the cuttings behind. At some point the brown bin stops being the answer. We come in with the van and a crew, load the lot in one go, and leave the garden looking like you never started.
We price per job, not per bag or per weight. Send a photo over WhatsApp (or just describe the pile) and we'll give you a firm number within the hour. If photos aren't enough, we can swing by to see it. Either way you'll know the cost before we lift anything.
Every load is sorted at our end. Clean green waste goes to licensed composting and green-waste recovery sites. Timber is chipped or sent for reuse. Everything moves under our Upper Tier Waste Carriers Licence, with a Waste Transfer Note on request.
The green pile, lifted and gone.
From a single barrow-load to a whole garden overhaul, one crew clears what won't fit in the brown bin.
Hedge & tree cuttings
Prunings, trimmings, branches and leaf piles. Bagged or loose, we load the lot. Big weekend trims, hedge reductions, storm debris.
Turf & topsoil
Lifted turf rolls after landscaping, leftover topsoil, subsoil from levelling. Sent for soil recovery where it's reusable.
Post-landscaping overflow
After the gardener's been and left the cuttings on the lawn. One pickup to finish the job, often same-day.
Overgrown garden clears
New-owner gardens, rental resets, properties that have sat empty a while. We tackle the lot and leave it usable.
Bagged green waste
Any quantity. Bulk bags from a long tidy-up, old compost sacks, builder's bags of garden debris. Volume doesn't scare us.
Sheds, pots & garden furniture
Dismantled sheds, rotten decking, broken pots, old patio sets. The non-plant stuff gardens accumulate over the years.
Three steps, no surprises.

Ring, WhatsApp or email a quick photo of the pile. A rough estimate of bags or barrows is enough to quote from.

Pick up, garden done
We load the lot, sweep the path behind us, and take it away under our Waste Carriers Licence. Waste Transfer Note on request.
Fixed prices, no weight charges. No subscription lock-in.
We price per job, not per bag. Volume, access, and whether we're also taking non-green stuff (sheds, furniture) sets the number. You'll have a firm price before we start, and we'll tell you before any change on the day.
Duty of care, covered.
We carry everything under our Upper Tier Waste Carriers Licence with the UK Environment Agency. That means we can legally transport waste that isn't our own and issue a Waste Transfer Note on request, so the paperwork lands on your side too.

How much does garden waste removal cost in York?
Fixed price per job, based on volume and what's included. A single barrow-load is a small call-out rate; a full transit van-load is priced separately. You'll have a firm number before we lift anything. No weight charges, no call-out fees when we can quote from photos.
Do I have to use York Council's garden waste scheme?
No. The council's brown bin subscription works well for regular small amounts, but it has a waitlist, a fixed collection day, and a size limit per bin. For anything bigger (a hedge trim, a landscaping clear, a new-owner garden), a one-off pickup is usually quicker and often cheaper than waiting for the next fortnightly round.
What counts as garden waste?
Anything plant-based and non-hazardous that came from the garden: grass clippings, hedge trimmings, branches, roots, leaves, weeds, bedding plants, turf, clean topsoil. Sheds, broken pots, rotten furniture and old bags of compost also go on a garden pickup, even though they're not strictly green waste.
How quickly can you pick up garden waste?
Often same-day or next-day in York. Smaller piles we can usually fit around the rest of the day's work. Full van-loads and scheduled jobs within 24 to 48 hours. Ring us, we'll tell you honestly what the diary looks like.
Do you take turf, soil and light rubble from the garden?
Yes. Lifted turf, topsoil, subsoil and small amounts of clean rubble (old path bricks, patio slabs) all go on a garden pickup. Heavier volumes of rubble are better suited to our construction waste service. We can advise on the phone.
Can I just burn garden waste instead?
Technically you can burn small amounts on your own land in York, but the council takes a dim view if smoke drifts to neighbours or the road (it can count as a statutory nuisance under the Environmental Protection Act). For anything bigger than a bonfire's worth, a van pickup is cleaner, faster, and you're not stood watching it for three hours.
Where does the garden waste actually go?
Clean green waste goes to licensed composting and green-waste recovery sites. Timber gets chipped or sent for reuse. Turf and soil go for soil recovery where they're reusable. Non-plant garden clutter (sheds, furniture) gets sorted through our normal waste streams. Everything moves under our Upper Tier Waste Carriers Licence.
Do I need to be home for the pickup?
Not if the waste is accessible from the front or side of the property, or you can leave a side gate open. We're happy to work from instructions left by phone, send photos during the job if you want them, and close up behind us.
Do you clear gardens for landlords and letting agents?
Regularly. End-of-tenancy garden resets, let properties that have been empty a while, overgrown gardens before a new tenant moves in. We can invoice the agent or the landlord directly and provide a Waste Transfer Note for your records.

Fast communication. Great price. Was able to collect the rubbish quickly. Lovely guy. Really helpful. Too much for me to take to the tip on my own especially the big stuff so really pleased he did a fast efficient job and got my garden looking neat and tidy again.
MUKIN cleared some tree cuttings from our garden. They quoted quickly and collected the waste the following day. Great service and price.
Really great service! Friendly, professional, quick at responding, came on time, no issues whatsoever and he cleaned our garden after removing the waste which exceeded our request/expectations. Recommend!
