A bit of both. For smaller jobs (a sofa, a student move, a single-van load across York), it's the man-with-a-van approach: one driver plus one, one fixed price. For full-property moves we scale up to the same crew with more hands and two trips if the load needs it. Either way, the same local crew you'll have spoken to on the phone.

Fixed price per move, based on volume, access and the distance between the two addresses. A one-bed flat within York usually prices differently to a four-bed house with a ten-mile hop. You'll have a firm number before we start. No hourly meter, no call-out fees when we can quote from photos or a video walk-through.

Often yes. Same-day or next-day moves are doable for smaller jobs in York, subject to the diary. Bigger moves we prefer 24 to 48 hours' notice so we can schedule the right crew and van size. Ring us, we'll tell you honestly what the diary looks like.

Van, crew, fuel and lifting. Furniture blankets and floor protection come on the van as standard, and flat-pack reassembly at the other end is included where it's reasonable. Stairs or upper floors don't change the price. If something unexpected turns up on the day, we'll tell you before the number moves.

Yes. Every move is covered by goods-in-transit insurance, alongside the public liability cover we carry on our waste and clearance work. Proof of both available on request. If something gets damaged on the way (it's rare), you're covered.

Packing is on you by default, since most people prefer to box up their own belongings. We'll pitch in on the day if you're still sealing boxes when we arrive. Full-service packing can be quoted separately if you'd rather hand the lot over. Ring us first if you want that arranged.

Pianos and safes need extra kit and sometimes extra hands, so they price separately from a standard move. Upright pianos we can usually do in-house. Full grands and fire safes we'd talk through with you before quoting. Ring us with the details.

Depends on the gap. A short overnight between completion and new-property access we can usually handle by loading the van one day and unloading the next. For longer gaps we'd point you at a local storage facility and either drop to their unit or handle the full move in and out when you're ready.

Our house-move service is York-focused, typically within roughly 15 miles of the Minster. Short hops outside that (to the next town over) are fine. Nationwide moves to London, Manchester or further we don't take on. We'll happily point you at someone who specialises.

As much notice as you can give, please. Completion dates slip, we get it. If you let us know 24 hours out we can usually shuffle the diary without charging anything. Same-day cancellations we may have to charge for the van and crew time if we can't fill the slot.
